On 30th and 31st March next year the city of Valencia will host the 3rd Social Innovation Forum, a unique occasion that comes on the back of the success of the previous edition in September 2015. Once again, more than 300 people will take on the main social challenges of our day, sharing their knowledge and project ideas to make them a reality. This year’s edition will have the added bonus that all of the themes covered in this third forum have been specifically selected by those who attended the previous edition, having been consulted in early 2016 for feedback as to what areas were of most interest.
“The forum aims to show how a myriad of organisations, entities and people that have already committed to applying processes of social innovation are achieving better results and greater social impact”, says Lourdes Mirón, president of Jovesolides. In response to the demand from those who attended previous editions, the themes that will be addressed include: social economy, smart city, measuring social impact, inclusion and ICTs, employment, non-formal education, functional diversity, art, social innovation methodologies, cooperation for development, public policies, and social inclusion. This wide range of topics is what make this forum unmissable. A gathering which in its third edition establishes itself as a national benchmark in social innovation.
The forum, created three years ago by the Jovesolides Platform and consolidated by the Red CreActiva, will also be a space for networking aimed at social companies, non-profit organisations, businesses, political parties, public administrations and people in academia who want to improve their social impact through social innovation. It emerges as a place for knowledge and learning, for the sharing and generation of ideas for change, and for aspiring to a fairer, more equal society.
As ever, special attention will be paid during the forum to training in methodologies that promote social innovation. In 2015 the 300 people who took part in the forum were able to gain hands-on experience of the CSSP method (Creative Solution to Social Problems), designed by Red CreActiva. This time we will be demonstrating other tried-and-tested methodologies that share the same goal of working on creativity and the desire to come up ideas that lead to innovative social projects.
